 Okay but looking for something betterOct 10, 2008

The tabletop poker layout arrived in good order and quickly. It's heavy but transportable. I don't expect the carrybag that came with it to last very long although it's held up okay so far. I've had the layout about six months and have carried it over to a friend's house four or five times for social poker tournaments and one of the joints is already misaligning when the top is unfolded for play. That's a disappointment as it puts a long bump across the playing field of the layout. I also wish there was some padding under the felt because without padding it's much more difficult to pick up the cards as there is no "give" to the board surface. I also wish there was padding around the outer edge of the layout as it gets uncomfortable on your elbows and the heels of your hands after an hour or so of play. The cup and chip trays are a little too shallow to be truely effective but the board would have to be thicker (and much heavier) to improve on that.
So, I recommend this table top only for light and occasional use. It's certainly an improvement on the roll of felt layout I used before buying this folding one; the roll of felt turned into a fuzzball storm after just a few uses.

The "table top" itself is a well-designed and practical model. It's lengthier than some other models, and I chose this one because I often have 2 tables of over 20 players at my home poker games so I wanted the longer possible "table top." Because it's a wood table top, it's fairly heavy, but that's normal for these things. This table top isn't going to last forever because it folds to save space (a very valuable feature); but because it folds, one days the segments will start to come apart. Nevertheless, it's sturdy enough to last for a while, and at this price, it's a good buy.

It is heavy, so the great price is offset by the high shipping charge. Regardless, I couldn't find it for less anywhere. It arrived quickly, well packaged and exactly as described. I have hosted 3 games so far... and won 2 of them... so I am ahead... for now!
