PRODUCT ANALYSIS:
I give this particular item by Tadpoles 3 stars, which is a pretty average rating & is however "neutral" (*smiling*).
The positive I have on the basket is that it is pretty much what I expected it to be.
The basket has an organic natural feel that is gender neutral with very classic/basic design elements.
The Moses Basket itself is made in Morocco of palm leaves and the blanket, bumper, and fitted sheet is made in China of 100% cotton and/or 100% polyester.
The basket is "ONLY FOR STATIONARY USE" - So do not carry your baby in this basket because the palm leaf basket weave will not withstand the weight (PLUS IT IS VERY DANGEROUS!).
In terms of the mattress - It is rather thin and is not made to last for long. However, for those of you that are planning to save the basket and maybe use it for your next child I suggest that you go to a craft store and buy polyurethane foam and cut around the original mattress using it as a guide and "voila!" you will have a new mattress.
Now that I personally have received the basket I made a decision and am glad that I did not invest in additional sheeting and/or mattress covers - It would've been not worth it because the mattress is too flimsy & cheap to invest any money into.
The great thing about the Moses Basket Gift set is the fact that the bedding is machine washable - Just make sure you remove the mattress before washing and do not use chlorine bleach.
The disappointing thing about ordering this set in white is that the color white to me was rather on the dull side - I personally was expecting a more vibrant white, but am thus far happy with my selection.
As for the blanket that came with the set - I would have to say it was made of very poor quality because of how misshaped the finished edges were with the polyester material... Pretty much the binding was way to big for the circumference of the blanket and the person that actually sewed it should of knew that before even attempting to do what was done... I have to say I am very disappointed with this workmanship and will more than likely contact the manufacturer directly to get a replacement.
And since I will probably be contacting the manufacturer I will inquire about how to get additional sheeting for the mattress and/or a replacement mattress when the time comes...... Any information I receive I will re-post my findings and inform you all.
SERVICE ANALYSIS:
Now in terms of the service I am pleasantly surprised about the efficiency of how fast the item had arrived to me.
I received my basket within a total of 13 days - That includes the start of the initial order to delivery reception.
Despite that it will take up to 30 days to begin the shipment process my experience happened after 11 days of placing the order - I also qualified for "Prime" and received the basket with free shipping within two days because I accepted "Prime" on a trial basis (Just make sure that you manage your account so that your card will not be charged automatically after the trial - Amazon.com directs you how to proceed to do that effectively).
The package was shipped via FedEx and was very easy to track using Amazon.com. However, when I received the box I thought that it could have been secured way better with tape - The inside of the box did however have an efficient amount of paper for cushioning, but the box was nearly open by the time I received it and I felt it wasn't secured properly for theft and/or possibility of becoming damaged.
But because Tadpoles packaging is secure it is the only reason why the Moses Basket did not become damaged - No thanks to Amazon though.
OVERALL ANALYSIS:
I would say that this item makes for a great baby shower gift and for first time parents a great alternative for keeping your newborn close by in those beginning stages of life for you & your baby when they sleep.
I personally plan on using this basket in the first few weeks and/or months for my newborn and am very excited that I got this basket at such a great value here on Amazon.com.
I just suggest that you at least order this item six weeks before you need it just to be on the safe side.

I very much like the Moses basket. It is very practical, and I'm still putting my baby in it every night at 5 months old. There are two problems with it that bug me. The first time I washed the sheet, it shrunk and no longer fits the mattress. I made new ones out of an old sheet I had around the house, so it was not a big problem, but for someone who does not have that option, this could be a big problem. The other difficulty is that one handle has always hung in the way, and it gets in the way when I put my baby in the Moses basket. You need to use the bumper; the basket itself would scratch, and maybe poke the baby.

I bought this gift for a co-worker's shower (she had it on her wish list). It was good size and I filled it up w/ all the gifts for her shower. The only complaint I have for it is that the basket itself didn't seem as sturdy or high-quality as I'd expect for the price. However, the bedding in it was fine.
