5Fun, FunOct 10, 2010
By Cassandra L. Harr
I really like this trike. We just bought 2 for our twins and they are wonderful. My husband and I put them together without any problems. The directions are step by step in picture format. One person posted that the directions were difficult and I would have to disagree. The steering is okay but not that bad. I can push two at the same time. Also the trike is very light weight and the saftey harness is a pluse. Also someone posted to upgrade to the zoo. We tested a trike pluse in the store and it seemed wobbley/cheap. We were going to purchase the deluxe but the store had the zoo only. I am so glad we got the zoo, it is just better quailty from the seat cushion to the tire and peddles. Overall we are happy with the purchase. Advice: purchase when kids are small because you will get a lot of use out of it. Suggestions for change: able to remove the cell phone (use of clip) - this way the phone will not drop but can be removed when parents are annoyed with it, canopy is good but would be nice if it can move side to side, bin in the back can fall off if load is too heavy or you hit it just right (connected to bike a little more securly - with a bolt or bungee of some sort)---I know you don't want the plastic to crack). These were just some suggestions and I know you can't have it all. Thanks for reading my reivew, sorry if there are spelling errors.------Cassandra (Even though I did not purchase this on amazon, I do go to amazon for reviews. I love when people post their unbiased thoughts on items because it helps me to decide if I would like the product.)

4my son loves itJun 16, 2010
By V. krancheva "veni4ka"
we got this trike for our 9 months old son,who loved it from the moment we put him inside.I love the idea of the back and head support, the trike has also two shoulder straps that securely hold the infant on the seat.It looks like it is very safe for our son who is always on the go!as some other reviews said it has a lot of plastic around the handle bars.we took the little phone holder and now there is more room for our son to play.the phone it self is a good idea,to keep little hand busy, but our is very quite and the baby loses interest in playing with it.I love the storage bucket on the back it is good for taking sand toys to the park.the bag that is on the handle could be useful too but we do not use it yet.The trike has a canopy on top, that we first installed, but had to take it off, because our son was reaching for it all the time.also with the canopy we could not see the baby very well.
I give it 4 stars, because it is a little hard to steer and it has a tendency of tipping on one side, while trying to make a turn.It seems to me that the connection between the handle and the base of the trike, could be a little sturdier and the steering a little easier.
But our son loves it and I hope that we'll have fun with it as it grows with our baby!!!

3Hard to Put Together, Pedals Don't Lock WellAug 02, 2010
By Perkinsa124 "Perkinsa124"
I'm usually very adept at putting together my son's toys, and this one was a bit difficult. It was entirely user error from me not scrutinizing the directions close enough, but they were somewhat hard to follow. I managed to break the piece that holds the foot stand on, so now it won't lock into place. At that point it wasn't worth the effort to take it apart and send it back, so we just make do with that part. The other issue I've noticed is that when we go over a bump, the pedals tend to start turning, even though we have the pedal lock engaged.

5Twin Mommy Blogger (AndTwinsMake5) reviews Smart TrikeMay 15, 2010
By S. Wagner "AndTwinsMake5 Blog"
So what's so smart about the Smart Trike Deluxe Tricycle? This unique 3 in 1 multi-featured tricycle is designed for quality and functionality for a baby 10 months and up. It changes and grows with your child making it the perfect first tricycle choice.

I should start by saying I was sent one of these to review by the company. The twins and I loved it so much after using it a couple times that I immediately ordered a second Smart Trike Deluxe from Amazon.com. Putting the bikes together was simple and painless. The directions are well done and easy to follow.

The smart trike deluxe can be configured in 3 different configurations which correspond to 3 different approximate development phases of your child.

The first configuration is for the 10+ month child. In this set-up it has a wrap around seat, complete with back support, keeping baby in place. It also includes safety straps, a telescopic, parent push handle, and a sun hood to limit exposure. In other words, it's a bit like riding in a bike themed stroller for your little one. Pushing them with the parent handle is a breeze, it controls the actual steering of the bike as opposed to just pushing and muscling the thing along like most bikes.

The picture of my twins above on the Smart Trike Deluxe shows the second configuration, which is aimed at the 15+ month child. Gone is the safety bar, back support, and sun hood. However, in this phase the bike still utilizes the parent push telescopic handle, safety buckles, a cup holder, telephone toy, back tipping bin, and a storage bag. I can lower the handle if my twins want to pedal and steer on their own for a touch, but raise it back up to push them home when they tire. Love it!

The 3rd phase allows for the eventual removal all together of the parent push and steer handle. My twins aren't ready for that stage yet at 21 months but it's so nice to know our bike allows for that when we get there.

Wow! Tricycles have come a long way since I was little. In fact, they've come a long way since my 15 year old was little. Where was this thing when I was hunched over pushing him or dragging his bike home next to me while I carried him?

The overall make-up of the bike is top quality. It has double injection rubber wheels and full metal construction. It was of no surprise to me that the Smart Trike was a "Right Start Best Toy" Award" winner. The deluxe is just one of the models made by the Smart Trike company.

You can find further details and photos on my blog andtwinsmake5.com.

5a very smart trike indeedFeb 14, 2011

After a long research on trikes, we chose this one solely based on the looks despite others mentioning its arduous assembly and despite it's lack of balance.

When we received the item, we were surprised how small the package was. I, the mother, immediately assembled the item in our living room. My son loved getting involved in the assembly. Though the instruction did seem a bit simplistic and rather vague, I was able to put it together on my own.

After assembly, my son started pushing the thing around the living room. The handle was a bit too high for my 11-month old, nevertheless, he found it very intriguing. We took it out later that afternoon and my son just loved every part of it. We went to the park and he was very involved throughout the trip. He looked and pointed at the grass, tried to reach for the foliage, looked down on the wheels examining how it worked. Now, we go out a lot in his stroller and he loves to look around instead of playing with toys but being on the trike allowed him to be much more alert and that much more involved. I felt he was learning much more as he looked around more.

The stirring doesn't go as far back as i would've wanted but I realized that I preferred it that way. He's much more secure in it as I felt if it stirred with a wider angle, the trike would flip over (as would any 3-wheeled vehicle). The first stage security system does keep him secure in the trike and gave him very good back support. After we took the the support out when he's ready for stage 2, my son got even more involved in everything and anything in his sight.

Overall, we love this trike. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but It works well for us.
