Amazing helperApr 25, 2010
By Edward S. Clark Such a simple device and so very useful! I use Prilosec and the hard aluminum packaging is hard to press through. This gadget does it very easy and pops the pill into the holder. Salutes to the inventor.

Arthritis helperAug 09, 2010
By Crystal L. Griffith I have severe arthritis in my hands . . .probably from pushing pills out of blister packs for many years as an RN. I had been using whatever I could to get our meds out of blister paks without easy success. I ordered this in spite of some of the reviews. It does work fairly well but with some adaptation, it works great. I use a paring knife or razor blade to score across each row of pills in two directions on the foil backing so each pill can "escape" when pushed. Then I use this gadget to push it all the way through the slits in the foil. Saves alot of frustration and pressure on the thumbs. In fact, I actually use the heel of my hand to push down on the gadget. It does seem to work better on smaller pills. Bigger ones are easier to get out by scoring the foil and using a pencil eraser to push down on the plastic blister while supporting the package on an old, larger pill bottle that will capture the pills as you push them thru. Actually, I have even used a 1" PVC pipe fitting in the past. Having a towel on your work surface helps keep pills from rolling whatever method you use.
The key to removing any pill from any blister pak is to get the foil open on the back and then using something like this gadget to push the pill thru. Trying to push the pills thru the foil and smoosh the blister pak at the same time is almost an exercise in futility. BTW, hammers DO NOT work well unless you like your pills crushed.

I ordered this item for myself and for a friend. She has some arthritis and has trouble opening blister packs. Many times I do too. The pill popper is a bit flimsier than I expected but it does work. I like that pills can fall into the "tunnel." Also, if a pack is too large, it can still pierce the packaging but the pill won't drop into the tunnel. I am pleased. My friend is as well. I'd recommend this product.
Great ubit for getting pilles out of thos sealed packagesMay 16, 2012
By kemorg I get sample pills from my doctor and the packages are a real pin to get the pills out. This little unit just pushed the pills out with little effort. Great price too.

I bought this because I have rheumatoid disease, and opening the little blister packs that pills come in is extremely difficult for me. I thought this would be a great help, but have been sadly disappointed. If the pills are smaller, the part that pushes the pill through the backing crushes the pill into dust.
Also, it takes a LOT of pressure to use this. I'm not very satisfied with it at all, and if you could post no stars at all, I would have.
