The foam has a non-slip surface that stays put when placed directly on the mattress and under all bedding including the mattress pad.
This set contains 2 light biege foam wedges each 5 inches (13cm) wide and 5 (13cm) inches high and 24 inches (60cm) long. They are designed to be placed in pairs along the side of a bed to make a 48 inch rail.
They fit any size bed because you can place as many as needed or easily cut off extra foam. It is easier to make the bed since the bed covers just go overtop of the bumpers. They are high enough to keep most children from rolling out of bed, but small enough to fit under the mattress pad and fitted sheet. The foam is comfortable and easy for little ones to climb over.
Toddler Bed Rail :
Magic Bumpers will work on beds where traditional bed rails just cannot attach, such as convertible cribs. There is no dangerous entrapment space and toddlers can easily climb over the bumper. Magic Bumpers are not for crib use unless the crib has been converted to a Toddler Bed. Deep pocket crib sheets work best, but many customers are able to use their existing crib sheets. The bumpers help to transition your child to a big bed.
Infant Co-Sleeping :
Magic Bumpers are a comfortable option for infant co-sleeping with the safety of having no entrapment space between the bed and bumper. Magic Bumpers are convenient for travel.
In accordance with State and US Federal Law for ALL bedding products, this product complies with California Technical Bulletin 117 for fire retardancy and is PBDE free. In order to conserve earth's resources, we use minimal packaging. The foam bumpers are placed directly on top of the mattress and all the other bedding goes over the bumpers. These bumpers are perfect! We originally bought the set of two, one for each side of a platform full bed. If I could give them 6 stars I would! My 21 mo old daughter moves a lot in her sleep - I mean a lot! It's also nice that she can climb over them to get into bed. I only have one problem with the bumpers - they worked SO WELL, they prevented my daughter from rolling off the bed on either side, so she would work her way down the bed in her sleep. I just bought a third set to put at the end of the bed as well. Like I said, my daughter MOVES and if these can keep my daughter in the bed, they will work for you too. I wish I had come up with the product idea myself!

I bought this in hopes that it would make co sleeping with my 4 month old safer. The product is made to be used UNDER your sheet, not sitting on top of it. Apparently the sheet is supposed to hold it in place. it doesn't. My sheet just pulled this thing to the center of the bed. When I use it on top of the sheet, my baby can just push it over. so not real useful for keeping the baby contained. Now I just use it in place of a pillow when the baby sleeps between my husband and I so that he doesn't roll over her. It is considerably narrower than a pillow so it serves that function well and it would be pretty hard for him to get over it in his sleep, no matter how deep of a sleep he's in.

Works perfectly on our daughter's toddler bed. We have a felt type mattress cover and the bumpers do not slip at all even when our daughter climbs over them. The only issue we had is that the toddler sheets did not fit over the bumper and the mattress (and we only use the bumper on one side so that would likely be a bigger problem if you use them on both sides). We just use a bigger sheet. Anyway, works very well for us - very nice product.

These are great! Like the other reviewer, my daughter also co-sleeps with us on my side of the bed. I set these up on my side and they are so much better than one of those guard rails. They are super easy to "install" and stay put until you move them.
