4Very happy with this purchase.Dec 07, 2007

I bought this basket for our new baby girl. We have been using it for 5 weeks and I love it! I would definitely buy it again. This is a nice item for the price.

Here are the pros and cons of this basket -

Pros:
- Light and easy to carry up and down the stairs.
- It takes up very little room, I set it on a cedar chest next to the bed.
- I didn't have a problem when I washed the liner and sheet in the machine. Maybe using a delicate/handwash cycle would help.
- The sheets we used in a regular bassinet fit in this just fine.
- The pad is quite thick.

Cons:
- The handles are twisted. I think this was due to the way it was packaged for shipping. It does not affect the usability.
- The ribbon that holds the liner in place has come off several times, including in the wash. It does not appear to be attached with much thread. I just reattached them with more/thicker thread.
- The liner around the head of the basket sags into the basket and gets in my daughter's face. Adding two ribbons at the top to attach it to the basket would fix this.

5Great value for a useful pieceDec 20, 2008

I purchased this Moses Basket on a bit of an impulse the first day I spent alone with my newborn, realizing quickly that I needed a safe place to put the baby down when I needed to make lunch or get water or go to the bathroom, and this has been exactly that.

For the price, this basket is a great piece of baby gear. I wasn't expecting a super high quality piece (and it isn't, but I've had no fabric tears or loose ribbons yet), but have been very pleased with it, and especially knowing that it can only be used for a few months, I would recommend this lower cost basket to anyone considering a Moses basket purchase. Also, the sheet included serves the purpose, but I found a receiving blanket wrapped snug around the mattress fit beautifully and is much cozier.

**Update: Five months of daily usage and this basket is showing lots of wear - the raffia (or whatever the material is that is wrapped around the rows) is unravelling, breaking off, and loose in several spots, the basket itself split on the upper two rows at the foot, and the sides are sagging. Despite this wear, we still say this was the best baby item we've purchased (for the price + usage) and I'd still recommend it!

3decent, for the priceSep 08, 2007

i loved the photo of this basket- and thought the honey color was very pretty. unfortunately, when it arrived, the honey is very red and the canopy over the basket caused the entire basket to bow out when attached. altogether, not the most sturdy moses basket i've seen, but for the money it made a cute and creative way to wrap a bunch of small baby gifts and will be a cute decoration, if nothing else.

4very useful for 1st few monthsSep 22, 2008

this basket is really cute and was very useful for the 1st 3 months or so to have a safe place to put baby in different rooms of the house. We live in a 2 story home with finished basement so this basket was really helpful to bring baby with me to diffrent rooms without having to put him on the floor or lug around a pack and play or cradle. Also was convenient for a co-sleeping option. baby can be in the basket on the bed with you and you need not worry about rolling on him....but if you are a deep or restless sleeper don't try it...they basket is not THAT sturdy and could get pushed off the bed. everything in the kit is removeable and the fabric can be washed.

2 reasons it didnt get 5 out of 5 stars for me. the fabric liner is not sewn in very well to ribbons that attach it to basket. Just a few more stitches in each would have sufficed and then the liner would have stayed in perfectly. I ended up with a really floppy liner in places. Yes you can reinforce these with a needle and thread....but realistically....the item should come in a state that the buyer doesn't have to do that. Plus what new mom has time and free hands to do this? If you buy this... reinforce the ribbons from the start with an extra stitch at each and you will be fine.

Also the ad doesn't state this, but despite the handles, they do not recommend that you carry baby from room to room using the basket. I used one hand to hold the handles and one to support the basket from the bottom if I had sleeping baby in the basket or carried him separate from basket when changing rooms.

Still this was an awesome basket and at a decent price. We got lots of complements on it.

4Moses Supposes His Toes-es are Roses...Sep 27, 2007

You cannot beat the price for the price. Be warned that the top cover is velcroed to the bottom basket. If you are picky, you might need to look elsewhere. But we are satisfied with the quality in relation to the cost.
