Beautiful!Feb 21, 2010

This is a beautiful little dollhouse when finished. It took about fifty hours to complete, but it was the first one I'd built, and I spent quite a bit of time wallpapering, etc. I'm sure if I build another, it will go together more quickly. The pieces need to be punched out of thin sheets and carefully sanded, and that takes time. The shingles had to be cut apart with scissors. Next time, I'll purchase a bag of shingles to add to the ones supplied, allowing us to put one more row on the main roof, gable, and dormers. We BARELY got the basics shingled, even though we were very careful not to waste pieces. We also ran into problems using hot glue on finished pieces; the glue didn't hold well to painted and varnished surfaces . . . although the directions suggest preparing the pieces before attaching them to each other. We ended up using hot glue to hold the pieces in place long enough for tacky craft glue to set. We also had to reinforce the porch railings to make them more durable. All that said, the result of this inexpensive little kit and a lot of elbow grease is a BEAUTIFUL little house with lots of tiny detail, gingerbread trim, etc. My seven year old is thrilled and will play with it for years. Her Polly Pockets are too small in scale, but (so what!), there is ample room for them. In the future, we'll buy some of the properly scaled Greenleaf furniture kits to upgrade the furnishings. You will also need: paint, hot glue and million glue sticks for the shingles, tacky craft glue, very fine sandpaper, ruler, sharp scissors, wood filler, wallpaper, spray varnish, etc. This house is fragile, though, and suitable for slightly-older children who will play quietly with their little dolls . . . not for someone who will shove it around the room frequently or try to sit on it.

Doll HouseFeb 10, 2010
By Pride My daughter enjoyed building the doll house. After receiving a new link for directions, they were very easy to follow and the diagrams were very helpful. For our first house, we did a pretty good job. This made a great snow day project. We will be ordering another house in the future.

great price, cute houseJun 19, 2010
By Ivelisse Hernandez I bought this house for my 6 year old niece. I put it together by looking at the picture because there are no real instructions included...it took me 3 days to finish. It's a good value for such a cute little house.

Corona DollhosueMar 31, 2011
By Pinkflowerbutton I liked this dollhouse over all. Its my first dollhouse that I built by myself. The only very frustrating problem is when you try and take the pieces out of the wood, some of the wood breaks off of the piece. It didn't happen all the time, only for smaller pieces like the windows or door parts. Luckily for me, It would always happen to the side that was going to be glued, so it didn't matter much. Its a good starter dollhouse.

good kit, for the price.Dec 23, 2011
By mpelfreth As reference, I uploaded the images of the yellow and white house. I wanted to build a quick dollhouse for my niece and ordered this kit. The parts are not laser cut, they are die stamped which makes things a little difficult in the beginning. The 1/8" ply used in this kit is not of a high quality, so you should expect to repair parts or even improvise by making some of your own parts with 1/8" duron or ply (some of the panels can be warped). I began building the house from the directions, and went on my own after the first step. I punched out all of the pieces, primed and painted the parts, then assembled. This sped up the process and I built the house in four days. If you problem solve well and know a thing about working with wood and materials, I highly recommend this product. For the price, it's a great little kit if you can make the best out of the materials. I am a professional woodworker without the time to design my own house to build for my niece. This fit the bill perfectly. I used Zap-A-Gap CA glue and glue accelerator spray to adhere the pieces together. This means no waiting time for glue to dry (maybe 5 seconds).
