I purchased this thinking it came painted and put together. It comes in thin sheets of wood that have to be painted, punched out, sanded, hot glued (instructions say to use super glue which won't work), then it needs a paint touch for the sides. Each room takes around 5 hours to assemble and paint so thats 30 hours to finish. If you have time then buy it but I sure wish someone would have warned me because I didn't have 30 hours to spend right before christmas, especially because I can only do it when my little girl is asleep so she doesnt see it.

This DIY doll house furniture kit has stenciled pieces pressed onto some cheap single ply plywood. The parts don't punch out cleanly and you need to cut most of them out with an exacto knife or box cutter (or its just a splintered mess). The parts then don't fit together easily, and Iwound up maybe salvaging 15% of the total furniture. The finished product looks primitive.
The designer of this junk should be caned!

I can't believe how they're hidden on Amazon that this is a "kit" in every sense of the word. It arrives as a set of flat sheets of wood with cut outlines. You will need to free the wood, sand it, assemble it, glue it, and paint/finish it.
If you search the web you can find some pictures of the actual shipping form of this and it looks absolutely nothing like the picture on Amazon. Note: as of the date of writing this there is only one picture on Amazon, it wouldn't surprise me if they add more information later :)

My husband and I bought this kit for our granddaughter, who had just received an empty doll house. We understood that we had to assemble the wooden pieces and paint or stain them, and we were looking forward to do this work as a hobby.
We were not prepared for the extraordinarily poor quality of plywood (about as thick as cardboard) that we received. The pieces were easy to punch out and to sand; it was harder to glue them together since clamps would not hold the pieces in place. We were disgusted that the refrigerator lacked a back and a bottom; only those sides that were seen (i.e. that did not go on the floor or against the wall) were provided. The door could not be opened, and the entire thing looked like a cheap box after we had finished it, hardly resembling a refrigerator. The stove was not much better--no back or bottom, no door for the front, and where the window of the stove door should have been, there was a hole. Even though we covered the hole with hard clear plastic (which we had to provide ourselves), the stove did not resemble a stove when we finished this piece. Moreover, the two pieces of furniture were so flimsy that in the hands of a child under 10, they would break in no time flat.
We stopped assembling the furniture at this stage since the entire thing was thrash. We regret having spent the money on the kits for 6 rooms! In a hobby shop we found several unfinished pieces of doll house furniture, made of solid wood and costing a mere $1 each, which we had fun painting and staining. I hope my granddaughter enjoys playing with the furniture as much as I enjoyed building it. It's a great buy, six rooms of furniture with so many items that I didn't make them all because everything won't fit in the house for which they were purchased. I used liquid nails to put them together and they seem very stable. It took me about 8 hours to build and paint the 4 rooms I've done so far. I just have to sew up a few accents using the guides provided.Don't buy if you are in a hurry, but if you enjoy creating I definitely recommend this kit.
