nice but smallNov 05, 2011
By spiders Set this up today in our backyard. Set-up was very easy and there was no detectable smell that others have noted. It is a fairly windy day and the teepee blew over within a few minutes. There is no way to attach it to the ground, so we would not be able to leave it set up outside, which defeats our purpose for it. However, my main issue with this teepee is its size. The height listed in the description is deceiving because it is the total height of the teepee, including to tops of the poles. the actual canvas is about a foot shorter. This would only be big enough to fit 2-3 kids sitting up, leaving no room to stretch out to play, etc. I will be returning this and getting the 12' teepee instead, which originally sounded too big. Now I know it will be the perfect size.

Great fun will be had but smells and can't wash fabricJan 20, 2011
By sb81 Very excited about this teepee. My son is just turning 2 so it may see premature but we have already had so much fun in this!! I love it but my two complaints are that the fabric has a strong odor, which i think smells like fish oil and my husband thinks it smells like urine. Yuck! I'm hoping it will go away with time. We shall see. I did read that in a previous review but took my chance. The company really should remedy that. I was hoping to wash it but the instructions say to spot clean so that is my other complaint because I can't get rid of the smell by washing it and since is touted as being an outdoor toy it should be washable by a more reasonable means than limited spot cleaning methods. I loved playing in a teepee as a kid and I am so excited for my kids to enjoy this teepee for years to come!

By L. Smith It was exactly what I was looking for. The heavy canvas is plain so kids can decorate it themselves. My kids loved it!
Great PurchaseApr 23, 2012
By Jeremy Zilar This teepee has worked out great for us! We bought the 7.5' Teepee over a month ago with the intention of using it as our 2yr old's bed, and so far, it has worked out great.

On the floor of the teepee, we are using his former crib mattress for him to sleep on, and we are using the body pillow we bought when my wife was pregnant to keep the form of the teepee wide and rounded. We are thinking of getting another body pillow for the other side of the teepee, just to make it symmetrical on the inside. The pillows help to keep the legs extended at their widest web.
It is roomy on the inside. We can comfortable sit in the doorway and read him books while he is in bed. And in the mornings, he now plays in the teepee for about 45mins to an hour (win on the weekend !) before wanting to emerge from his camp.
The construction is solid. I feel comfortable letting him and his friends run in and out of there without worry of it falling down. The poles are solid wood, with a connecting piece in the middle. Each rod is fed through a concealed sleeve that is stitched into the side of the teepee. I do wish there were rubber stoppers on the bottom ends of the poles. That might help to keep it expanded at full width (hence the need for the pillows).
I am glad we got the 7.5' teepee, because I was considering the 6' one for fear that the diameter would be too wide. Currently, it is no greater than 5.75', or the length of a crib mattress. Now I kind of wish we got the 9' teepee.
Up until now, most every purchase we've made for our kid (he's almost 3yrs) has had a short life span or been intended only for a certain period in their life. But I feel like we are going to get many years out of this one, even well beyond the point where he grows out of using it as a bed.
Fun for years to comeApr 16, 2012
By Indiana Adams We got this for our 15 month old for Christmas. It is one of his favorite things, ever! He plays in it every day and treats it as his own little hiding space and resting nook. It was very easy to put together. I did it myself in less than 15 minutes. I do recommend two people to spread it out, though (one inside anchoring the poles, the other person outside adjusting). My only complaint is that over time, the canvas slips down the poles and looks a little baggy if the teepee isn't spread out wide enough (when it's spread out wide, the canvas it taunt and stays up the poles). This is me being very picky, though. I would not recommend it for outdoor use, though. There's no bottom to the teepee and the canvas is so pristine out of the package. Our son loves it, and I can see him using it for years and years to come as well as his little friends and siblings enjoying it, too.
