We have never used this for a canopy but it does make a perfect support for the mobile above the baby's bed, as both bassinet and crib. The knob on the end to the arm is perfect for suspending the mobile and since the knob screws in, it secures the mobile tightly while allowing me to adjust the height easily. A little pricey, I suppose, for a mobile support but I'm happy and so is the baby.
 This does not fit to the bassinet.Jan 19, 2012

My husband is pretty good at installing things but this one just did not work. The width of the support needed to be wider in order to be safely mounted on the the bassinet. We tried everything, but gave up and just returned this one.

While this is meant to hold the canopy, I use it to hang a mobile for my baby as well. Its perfect for both applications!
